Our experience walking together started on family holidays to the Lake District (see left)
Fast forward 20 years when Lockdown hit, we rediscovered the beauty of the Surrey Hills
However, when talking to friends and family, we realised that not everyone felt comfortable in accessing the area beyond our local hotspot, due to fear of getting lost
A weekend spent walking in the Peak District gave us the creative space to brainstorm ideas
The name WalkTalk originates from us wanting to balance both the physical "Walk" and mental "Talk" health benefits from walking in a group
We spent the next year solidifying our ideas into a tangible plan!
We spent Christmas developing the website - a fun and creative challenge
Boxing Day 2023 became our first WalkTalk taster :)
Come and join us for a taster walk - all walks free for June, July, and August!
Behind WalkTalk are father and daughter, Paul and Lucy.
As you can see from the photo above, Lucy has been dragging Paul out for as long as she can remember!
With over 25 years of experience as a Mountain Leader, Paul has led mountaineering trips across the UK. He also enjoys volunteering with a local school to assist with their Duke of Edinburgh expeditions across the North Downs, Exmoor, Dartmoor, New Forest and Snowdonia.
Lucy is a qualified Hill and Moorland Leader and DofE assessor.
Like Paul, she enjoys volunteering with DofE expeditions and has led groups in the North Downs, Exmoor and Peak District.
